Sergio Aguero has some bad news for David Beckham when it comes to Lionel Messi. The British soccer legend is hoping that the eight-time Ballon d’Or will stay in Miami for a very long time.

Sergio Aguero says Lionel Messi’s return to Barcelona likely

However, Aguero, who is one of Messi’s closest friends, does not think this will happen. He believes that the Argentinian soccer icon will decide to leave Inter Miami for a return to Barcelona.

The MLS franchise has improved a great deal since Messi joined earlier this year after leaving French giants PSG. In an interview with AS admitted that he has not talked about the matter with Messi.

However, he believes that a return to Barcelona is a natural outcome and is “only a matter of time” before the big Miami exit.

David Beckham has big plans for Messi in MLS

Aguero’s words are not what Beckham wanted to hear for the development of the American league. He previously told The Times: “I see Leo’s involvement in the league a lot longer than his playing time. We are very keen to keep him to help attract players and be involved with the football development of the club and football in the US. I think that will be a lot of fun for him as it’s been for me.”

He continued: “I wanted to see him come in, see him go about everything he does so professionally, setting an example to all the young kids here. He is a superstar, but the most humble superstar. And I just love to watch him train. Anyone who has seen him live knows he’s different, special.”

Regardless of what Aguero says, Messi is the one with the last word. Observers say he seems well adjusted in Miami. Moreover, he has admitted that his situation in Florida is probably better than what he had in France for the past two years.

Aguero finds his footing a commentator after early retirement from soccer

Soccer fans are happy to see that Aguero is staying on headlines and has adapted to his new role as a commentator. The former Man City striker retired two years ago after a transfer to Barcelona.

Mr. Aguero, who was starting to have a real impact in Spain, made the unpleasant announcement that he would be retiring from soccer on December 15, 2021, after he had been diagnosed with a heart condition.

The former player delivered his message in a press conference, admitting that the decision was difficult for him, but one that he had to make nonetheless.

Many of his supporters were shocked by the announcement, which apparently took a lot of them by surprise. He was expected to be out for just three months.

In the end though, pretty much everyone was supportive of Aguero, with many commenters pointing out that his health is more important than his career, and he should obviously prioritize it accordingly.

Some Barca fans still think of Aguero

Still, that has not stopped many of his followers from being disappointed at the way things turned out, as some were apparently hopeful that he still had a few good years of professional play in him.

What Aguero was planning to do next was a mystery, as the player had not been very open about his plans. He had not been very active on social media either, which followers understood, given the fact that he might have wanted to relax and take some time away from interacting with his fans.

In the meantime, his former team had to adjust to the new situation as well, but they were at least given a heads-up and were already making preparations in this regard.

According to Aguero, the problem had been around for a while, and he had taken steps to ensure that he preserved his well-being.

As Barcelona continue to struggle in LaLiga, some wonder if things would have been different if Aguero was able to stay.
